Welcome to my Online Course!
This course is designed for anyone who loves nature and art and wishes to learn the techniques for botanical painting from the comfort of their own home, working at their own pace.
All you need is access to a computer and internet, basic art materials and enthusiasm!
My approach is to teach you how to think as a botanical artist, and to enjoy the whole process of discovery, understanding and interpretation.
I want to build your confidence and leave you feeling inspired. If you have any questions along the way, please do not hesitate to ask. Sometimes you might need me to explain things a little more clearly, or to guide you in your choice of subject material or techniques.
I am here to help, so feel free to contact me. I will do my best to reply as quickly as possible.
I am a self-taught watercolorist. My journey into botanical art started in 2005 when my daughters were young. They would bring home ‘treasures’ that they found in the gardens which I would draw and paint my sketchbooks. My first attempts at painting in watercolour were terrible, but the more that I practiced, the more my skills improved.
Realising that this was something that I really enjoyed, I enrolled on the Distance Learning Diploma Course with the Society of Botanical Artists. Since graduating in 2012, a whole world of exciting possibilities has opened up. I travel the world exhibiting and teaching, and have won awards for my art. I have even designed a set of national postage stamps.
If I can do it, anyone can!
Many wonderful people have helped me on my botanical journey, and now I want to share my knowledge, experience and passion for the natural world with others, and help them achieve their goals.
